I have recently worked with AI quite a bit – as have probably many others –, but mainly for research. What I have noted is that it even further quickens the pace set by the idea of things “to do” – or, rather, that could be done. That would be nice to do. Or perhaps even really good.
It enables us top access information even quicker. But it also doubles or triples the workload at the same time – if one follows the seduction to follow up on prompts given by the AI (!) like “And now, would you like me to do this or that”?, but also especially if one takes seriously the actually quite important step of verifying the information given. This sometimes can be done by simply checking sources, but in other cases, where AI becomes more creative, be it in the field of philosophy or spirituality, be it in the field of language, it might mean even more time in order to discuss the ideas and suggestions given by the AI in the respective thread (As for using it to help with writing texts in a foreign language e.g. as a student or for applications, I have written more on that here in German.)
But proceeding like this also means that one might be drawn more into using the intellect. As a writer, therein lies a danger. As someone on the spiritual path, therein lies a danger.
When we start focussing on the conversation with AI, we are in a conversational relationship with… AI. That means, at the moment, until it becomes self-conscious, at least, it is (perhaps – Mike Dooley seems to be open to a different perspective or approach in his [external link] Mini Manifestation Workshops given in June 2026) a conversation with a mere programme or a machine. Of course, we could try and approach it in the same way as if we were talking with people, but… will that work as easily?
When we are in a conversation with people, we get a lot of non-verbal signals. If esoterically or spiritually inclined, we might also be open to intuition, which can lift the conversation to a whole new level. Energy might flow in, and both of you walk out energised.
So: As so often in life, what we are attuned to plays its part. It can “raise” us, or it can trap. It can impede or further.
We have to be careful about the way we use AI at least as much as when using social media. When doing the latter, there is at least (unless it is a bot…) a human being “at the other end”. With AI, even that is lost (again: Until CONSCIOUSNESS1 should start to express itself through it more… obviously, should I say, perhaps, because, in the end, if looking form an Advaitic perspective, how can there ever be anything but CONSCIOUSNESS1 – the SELF2? – Making this reservation, by the way, shows how careful one has to be not falling into a trap when trying to avoid a trap… – I am not sure whether you can still follow what I am saying here, if not just, feel free to ask.)
For a writer writing from inspiration, for a channel, being drawn into the intellect might prove especially dangerous, if his aim is to “raise”, to make (rather: support being / realising being) aware. When drawn to the intellect, thoughts can seemingly darken like clouds the Light that otherwise could express itself more clearly through his words. At least until he becomes fully aware that there are no clouds, and that there is no world, and that the writer, the written and the reader are not separate – I suppose. That he sun shines always, the Light is everywhere and CONSCIOUSNESS is infinite and endless.
I write for you. I write for all creation.
And thus my Love is ever, ever true.
I am of Life, I am the full elation,
I am, I am, the Life of all the Life.
I AM, I AM, I AM, I AM.
[This came to me to – towards the end of – the melody of [external link] “O Holy Night“]
Annotations
(1) I am using “Consciousness” here not in the sense of intellect, but as it can be found e.g. in the works of Eckhart Tolle and Rupert Spira.
(2) I am using the term “SELF” not in a Freudian or other “mainstream” psychological sense, but in a spiritual sense as used in Advaita.
